If not, I will try wintergreen or labrador tea. Thanks for responding! :)cheesejanitorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08931709951706798613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3023803000478958088.post-31366418370634789542013-07-22T09:36:32.414-04:002013-07-22T09:36:32.414-04:00I did not, though I probably gave up too soon, and...I did not, though I probably gave up too soon, and was neglectful in my efforts. The potato yeast starter was the easiest to get going, and I will probably start another one this fall/winter.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11557512606416161272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3023803000478958088.post-85583922012321439202013-07-22T01:27:32.036-04:002013-07-22T01:27:32.036-04:00Hi, i've just discovered your blog. I'm thinking of a similar venture myself. :)cheesejanitorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08931709951706798613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3023803000478958088.post-52014522690932047782012-11-19T10:12:14.998-05:002012-11-19T10:12:14.998-05:00I put tea towels over anything left sitting out, j...I put tea towels over anything left sitting out, just to keep the dust off. The whole house cools overnight, there really are no warmer spots currently. It's ok though, now that I know the yeast wasn't dead, I'll just have to be patient and give it more time to rise.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11557512606416161272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3023803000478958088.post-46519877001395559162012-11-19T09:26:34.023-05:002012-11-19T09:26:34.023-05:00Thank you for experimenting and reporting.
When ...Thank you for experimenting and reporting.

When I have something that does not need to cool, I put a cloth or three over it just to retain the heat. Depending on size and location, I also turn a plastic box over it, put it in a bucket and loosely place the lid on. Moving the item to a different, warmer, locaton also helps.

My house cools dramatically at night.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14991571309786149363noreply@blogger.com
